Much anticipation have been circling around Ridley Scott's Prometheus 2 and many are wondering as to when it will finally be released in the big screen. According to a recent interview with Scott, filming for the upcoming sequel might start in January while production is also rumored to begin this November.

According to Yahoo, a recent interview by Total Film with Scott may hinted new filming details. Scott reportedly told the publication that filming will soon start in January 2016 and even revealed his love for the sci-fi genre. "I've got back into the sci-fi thing," he said. "I kind of adore it," he said.

Earlier this year, it was also reported that writer Michael Green was already rewriting the script for the sequel. However, according to Entertainment Weekly, "a source close to the project" reportedly said that the script is still being worked on and that a filming date of January might be a little too optimistic.

Meanwhile, although filming was earlier mentioned to begin in January, rumors also previously made their rounds saying that production for the movie is set to begin in November. According to Ecumenical News, this rumor was started by a forum member by the name of Big Dave, who also said that the upcoming film's budget will be 50% higher than the budget of the first movie. Prometheus (2012) had a budget of around $120 million to $130 million.

No confirmation has been released about the new details yet, and the wait continues for new official information. As for the film's plot, it was previously reported that it will be divided into three core plots, and Dr. Elizabeth Shaw and android David's journey to finding the creators of the Engineers, as hinted in the previous film, will just be one of the three.

Ridley Scott has been attached to direct the upcoming Prometheus 2. Noomi Rapace and Michael Fassbender are also expected to reprise their roles as Dr. Shaw and David respectively. No release date has been announced for the film yet, but more details are expected to be revealed in the coming months.
