'Prometheus 2' director Ridley Scott is working closely with 'Alien 5' director Neill Blomkamp and with this comes potential overlapping and contradictions in plots and characters. Two new alien species may also appear in the upcoming sequel.

In an article by Scified, film studio 20th Century Fox is currently working with both 'Prometheus 2' and 'Alien 5' at the same time. The two productions are also said to be closely tied as revealed in the release promotional material from the latter.

According to Empire, Scott was revealed to have persuaded Blomkamp on making some necessary changes in the script to 'Alien 5' so as to avoid overlapping. Blomkamp said, "I changed the one thing [Scott] felt was bumping Prometheus a little bit. One thing that makes me feel good about it is that Ridley is producing it. He likes the idea of what I want to make."

Speculations on two new alien species to be introduced on the film are also on the rise. According to Cross Map, the alien Xenomorphs were originally to appear. But after clarification from Scott, it is highly unlikely that these characters will be included in the film since these were originally from 'Alien' - however, they may have some similarities.

'Prometheus 2' will be the follow-up for the 2012 science fiction film by director Ridley Scott. It starred Michael Fassbender, Charlize Theron, Noomi Rapace, Guy Pierce and Idris Elba among others. 'Prometheus' was first intended as part of the popular 'Alien' franchise but soon became a different story of its own. It followed events that took place before 'Alien' but isn't exactly connected to it. The first film grossed $403 million in the box office according to Box Office Mojo but received mixed reviews - some claiming it to be aesthetically remarkable but others saying it had a predictable plot line.
