The 11th installment of The CW's tv series 'Supernatural' is pretty exciting. The upcoming season will mostly feature about the boy's past, as Dean and Sam deal with the release of The Darkness.

Fans have also learned that Season 11 will pick up where the previous season left off. That means, the boys will "figure out what that is, how far it reaches and how to fix it," star Jensen Ackles explained.

In a recent interview with TVLine, star Misha Collins talks about the upcoming "darkness" in 'Supernatural' season 11.  He said that Castiel, who didn't think that The Darkness is real, has to deal with the "effects of the attack dog spell and the stabbing of Crowley and The Darkness."

"It is a very, very big bad ominous force that angels only heard of as a scary bedtime story," the actor explains The Darkness.

Cartermatt also notes that there will be "major repercussions" over the course of the whole season after Dean killed Death, as pointed out by the executive producer Jeremy Carver.

Meanwhile, actor Jensen Ackles has dropped some spoilers via Popsugar for 'Supernatural' season 11. He said that Jeffrey Dean Morgan, who plays the Winchester boys' father, return is still up in the air. But Morgan is very much available if the show decides to bring him back.

Aside from that, Ackles shares what he knows about Morgan's directing an episode. He said, "And so if it works organically with the writers, and if they can find a way where it makes sense, then I'm sure that they would love to do that. He would love to do that, but no promise of it anytime in the near future."
