‘The Winds of Winter’ Release Update: George RR Martin’s clearing his schedule to focus on writing

Fans of George RR Martin's works have a lot of waiting to do. HBO's "Game of Thrones" is still filming its sixth season, which is slated to be released on April 2016, and the release for the sixth instalment in the "A Song of Ice and Fire" book series is still uncertain. However, it was recently reported that Martin is already clearing his schedule so he could finish the book.   

According to International Business Times, the renowned author is very busy due to his tight schedule. This summer, George R. R. Martin will be appearing in three conferences and his last will be on August 29-30 at Bubonicon 47 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Recently though, he skipped Comic-Con and the World Fantasy Convention to make room for writing the much-anticipated book sequel.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Martin admits that he too, cannot wait for "The Winds of Winter" to hit the bookstores.

"I wish it was out now. Maybe I'm being overly optimistic about how quickly I can finish," Martin says. He adds, "But I canceled two convention appearances, I'm turning down a lot more interviews-anything I can do to clear my decks and get this done."

Master Herald reports that there are fans speculations claiming the book will be released before the premiere of "Game of Thrones" season 6 on April while others claim that it could be released before the end of 2015 to be considered in next year's Hugo Awards.

The sixth instalment of "A Song of Ice and Fire" is expected to tie all loose ends in the fifth book, "A Dance with Dragons" once readers are halfway through the book. Point of view chapters from Sansa Stark, Arya Stark, Arianne Martell, Tyrion Lannister, Barristan Selmy, and some from Greyjoys are reportedly included in the sixth book sequel.

George RR Martin's is still finishing his much-awaited "The Winds of Winter," which will serve as the sixth book instalment in the "A Song of Ice and Fire" book series. He is reportedly clearing up his schedule to make room for writing since even he wants to release the book for his fans delight.
