Universal Pictures has recently released the first trailer for "The Dressmaker", featuring a dress-designing Kate Winslet and a frequently shirtless Liam Hemsworth. The upcoming Australian comedy drama is slated to premiere on October 22.

 "The Dressmaker" is based on Rosalie Ham's best-selling 2000 novel of the same name. The movie centers on Myrtle "Tilly" Dunnag (Kate Winslet) who returns in a small Australian town after many years of living in Paris to take care of her mother.  As per the film's synopsis, while Tilly transforms the townspeople with her remarkable seamstress skills, she seeks revenge on everyone who falsely accused her of killing a young boy in the past. In the midst of achieving her goal, she reconciles with her mother (Judy Davis) and unexpectedly falls in love with a man named Teddy (Liam Hemsworth).

Apart from Winslet ("Titanic", "Divergent"), Hemsworth ("The Hunger Games", "The Last Song"), and Davis ("To Rome With Love", "The Eye of the Storm"), the film co-stars Hugo Weaving ("V for Vendetta", "Captain America: The First Avenger"),  Caroline Goodall ("The Best of Me", "The Princess Diaries"), Shane Bourne ("Tricky Business", "Kokoda"), Kerry Fox ("Intimacy", Mister Pip"), Rebecca Gibney("Mental", "Packed to the Rafters"), Sacha Horler ("Small Time Gangster", "Look Both Ways"), Shane Jacobson ("Surviving Georgia", "Charlie & Boots"), Alison Whyte ("Frontline", "Satisfaction"), Genevieve Lemon ("The Piano") and Sarah Snook ("Predestination", "Jessabelle").

Helmed by the Australian director, Jocelyn Moorehouse, "The Dressmaker" was filmed in the Docklands Studio Melbourne and in Victoria state. According to SBS, Screen Australia, the Ingenious Senior Film Fund (advised by Ingenious Media and Apollo Media), White Hot Productions, Motion Picture Lighting, Film Victoria and Soundfirm financed the comedy-drama flick.

Universal Pictures International (UPI) will release "The Dressmaker" in Australia and New Zealand this fall, on October 22. As for its US premiere, no specific date was announced yet.
