It has been twenty years since TEKKEN was first unleashed to the world. Since its debut in late 1994, the TEKKEN series has produced nine TEKKEN fighting game installments, several movies including full CGI and live action installments, several print publications, and a legacy that will sustain for as long as there are videogames. TEKKEN is considered one of the greatest videogames of all time.

This year is definitely a commemorative event in TEKKEN history. TEKKEN first started with 8 characters in its initial release, which has since bloomed to more than 50 to date. The latest installment TEKKEN 7 has slowly been trickling new characters like new challenger Gigas into its roster since its initial Japanese arcade release last March of this year.

TEKKEN 7 director Katsuhiro Harada has announced that an official TEKKEN 7 tournament will be held this year. The King of Iron Fist Tournament will be held in Japan , and will be giving a total cash prize of 10 million yen to the ultimate winner. The official announcement can be found via the offical TEKKEN website, but you can view the details in its English translation via Attack of the Fanboy.

North American TEKKEN fans can now breathe a sigh of relief since the long wait to have TEKKEN 7 available across the pond have come to an end. The official TEKKEN Facebook page has posted a list of TEKKEN 7 Arcade testing locations:
