CW has once again got another gem as the first season of "iZombie" received praises from critics and fans alike. The hit crime-thriller is now on its way to a second season, which will see Robert Buckley's Major as a bit different after the events last season. Aly Michalka's attachement to the show however, remains uncertain.

During the first season of "iZombie," Major Lilywhite, was projected as a sweet, charming, and funny guy, says executive producer Rob Thomas in his interview with TV Line. But Robert Buckley's character is about to have a darker view of the world now that he has already killed people last season.

Thomas said that when they had a conversation with Buckley to offer the role of Major, he specifically wanted his character to be useful that is to say the ending of season 1 was already planned for a long time.

"He called me and said, 'Listen, I just want to make sure that I'm not just going to be the boy that Liv pines for, that I'm going to have something to do,' and I pitched him the exact ending of the show," the producer said.

As for Aly Michalka's Peyton Charles, Cross Map reported that her return for "iZombie" season 2 is still unconfirmed at the moment. Towards the end of last season's finale, Peyton ran away from her friend Liv, played by Rose McIver, after she knew Liv's real identity. The site mentioned that the writers planned that story to keep the status of Michalka's character pending.

"iZombie" proved to be one of the newest TV series favorites under CW, which makes its renewal for another season a no brainer. Deadline reports that even though the series' ratings are not as exemplary as "The Flash"'s, it deserves another season after critics and viewers received it well.

Robert Buckley's Major will be a bit different in "iZombie" season 2 after the events last season. Major will be less innocent this time and will have a darker perception of the world while the return of Aly Michalka to reprise her role as Peyton is still unknown.

"iZombie" season 2 premieres October 6, 2015 on CW.
