Channing Tatum's Gambit movie is in progress as the actor revealed that the first draft of the film had been submitted. Gambit will be directed by Rupert Wyatt but he will not appear in X-Men: Apocalpyse.

The first draft of the movie, Gambit, had been submitted by writer, Josh Zeturner, and Channing Tatum revealed that the movie will be an origin story of the badass hero.

"Josh Zetumer just turned in the first draft of the script, and it's killer. None of us were sure how he was going to deal with the X-Men world.

But we're going to be changing some of the tropes of these movies. It's always about saving the world (Laughs), but maybe we're going to shift things a little bit. There's so many ways you can take [an origin story]. You could do it like Batman Begins, or a different take and go the Guardians of the Galaxy route. All I can say is, I'm super excited." Tatum said.

Gambit will be directed by 'Rise of the Planet of the Apes' director Rupert Wyatt, and will be produced by Tatum, Reid Carolin, Lauren Schuler Donner, and Simon Kinberg

Tatum, who will be playing the titular role seems to be very excited while he explained that he likes the fact that the character is neither the bad guy, nor the good guy,

"I love Gambit....I grew up in the South; my father's from Louisiana. We'd go to New Orleans and I heard all the dialects. It felt so different from the rest of America; it has its own ancient culture. So I identified with that.

And he always felt the most real of the X-Men to me. He's kind of a tortured soul and he's not a good guy. But he's not a bad guy, either. He walks his own path. And of course he plays cards and drinks and is a martial-arts badass!" he said.

Meanwhile, though it would be really nice to see Gambit in the upcoming X-Men: Apocalypse movie, Tatum clarified that he will not be in it. Tatum recently took part in Reddit Ask Me Anything where a fan asked the actor whether or not him, as Gambit, will make an appearance in the film, which Tatum gave an honest reply saying "No ma'am, or sir. I definitely will not."

In Gambit, Tatum will be playing the hero who charges objects with energy turning them into exposives. More details about the movie is expected to be revealed soon.
