"Empire" Season 2 is already in the works and the executive producer of the show, Danny Strong, talked about the general theme of the show. The Broadcast TV drama show will be about the "Warring Kingdoms" of the show and will be focusing on families.

"Empire" is about crimes, mental illnesses and homophobia and Strong shared that the second season of the show he has produced will be about who will be inheriting the throne. This is a hugely-anticipated show and Strong discussed how he does not feel the pressure of making the show better since it already succeeded in the pilot season, Deadline reported.

When asked about what his views are regarding a show giving recognition to the African-Americans and the LGBT issues that the society is facing, he noted that he just wants the story to be dynamic. As for the LGBT issues, he continued to explain, "Taking on homophobia is part of the DNA of the story, and for me, tackling social issues in mainstream entertainment, is literally why I write."

In another report by Ecumenical News, "Empire" Season 2 will be returning with more drama and great music after Lucious Lyon, played by Terrence Howard, was arrested in the finale episode of the first season due to murder charges. He had to leave his empire to his gay son Jamal and it will be up to him to keep the company alive. Strong hinted that it does not mean that Jamal was given the empire and will end up keeping it forever.

As for Cookie, played by Taraji P. Henson, flashbacks will be presented in the second season in order to know more about the Lyon family. She has not been with her family for 17 years and that will answer a lot of questions from the viewers of the show, Carter Matt reported.

"Empire" Season 2 will be back on September 23, 2015. Watch out for more spoilers regarding this much-awaited Broadcast TV show.
