While Christina Aguilera won't be returning to The Voice Season 9 as a coach, another singer will have a comeback. Gwen Stefani will be joining coaches Adam Levine, Blake Shelton and Pharrell Williams.

Gwen Stefani first appeared as a coach in Season 7 and now she will be back for Season 9 and she's as excited as anyone else.

Stefani said in a press release, "I'm coming back and am so excited! I can't believe I get to return to The Voice."

She's excited but that doesn't change the fact she's only a second choice after Christina Aguilera in the singing competition. She even expressed her jealousy with Aguilera before after she got ditched in season 8.

She became the judge in Season 7 because of Aguilera's pregnancy. If Aguilera wasn't pregnant at that time, Stefani would not be a coach. But of course, change is inevitable. Maybe in the incoming seasons, viewers will see a new face in the coach line up.

Aguilera won't be back in season 9 because she wants to spend more time with her family. But it is rumored that she would definitely be back for season 10.

"Christina is confirmed for Season 10 and has already signed her contract. She has been very vocal about not doing Season 9 to take a break to spend time with her family and her kids," Us Weekly said.

Although this just shows blatantly that Stefani's just a second choice for The Voice, it does not change the fact the Hollaback girl is a talented performer and she's greatful to be back for The Voice Season 9 as a coach.

In the same press release, Stefani further stated that, "It's so inspiring to be around such incredible talent and music. I'm looking forward to working again with Adam, Blake and Pharrell. I love those guys."

The Voice Season 9, and the four coaches, will be back this fall in NBC.
