The third instalment of the Thor franchise is coming to theaters in 2017, and although there are no official announcements about the details of the movie yet, many theorize that the upcoming film might include Loki or Thor's death.

In the Avengers: Age of Ultron, Thanos was seen possessing the Infinity Gauntlet, which gives unlimited power to whoever takes hold of it, given that all Infinity Gems will be attached to it. Reports say that in Thor: Ragnarok, Thanos might cause the annihilation of Asgard and the introduction of Surtur as what was indicated in Ranarok Tale of Norse mythology.

Rumors have it that Loki might die in the upcoming film. This is due to the fact that in Ragnarok Tale og Norse mythology, Loki was killed by Heimdall, although there is also that possibility reported that it might be Thanos who will end Loki's life instead of Heimdall.

Talking about the last instalment of Thor and his character Loki, Tom Hiddleston said,  "Thor 3 is happening some point and the last time we saw Loki, he was on the throne, so there's some questions to be answered."

Aside from that, many also speculate that Thor might die in Thor: Ragnarok, or that he might transfer his power to a female Thor, following the latest comic book revelation of him passing on his hammer to Jane Foster.

Thor: Ragnarok will be the last movie before Avengers: Infinity War Part 1 hits theaters in May 2018,  which is also rumored to be about Thanos gathering all the Infinity gems and causing a huge destruction. Following those rumored plot line in MCU, these theories about Thor: Ragnarok's possible plot does not sound far-fetched at all.

Thor: Ragnarok is the last instalment in the Thor trilogy, and it is set to hit theaters in November 03, 2017.
