'Boruto: Naruto the Movie' Update: First Official Poster Drawn by Masashi Kishimoto Revealed; Film To Premiere August 7

"Boruto: Naruto the Movie" has taken one step closer to its August 7 premiere as the poster of the highly anticipated next Naruto-based film has been finally released on Monday. Drawn by the series creator Masashi Kishimoto himself, the official poster is expected to be released in Japanese theaters starting June 27.

The visual features a new generation look for its main characters, Naruto Uzumaki and his son, Boruto, which is reported to be based from Naruto Gaiden: Seventh Hokage. It also shows some of the movie's supporting characters like Mitsuki, Sarada and Ino-Shika-Cho.

According to Comic Book Resources, "Boruto: Naruto the Movie", serves as a sequel to 2014's "The Last: Naruto the Movie". With Naruto's entry in fatherhood, the new film will shift its focus from the legendary hero to one of his children, Boruto and in his action-packed adventures to surpass his father's renowned deeds.  Here, the boy will meet his father's friend, Uchiha Sasuke and as per Weekly Shonen Jump's translated synopsis of the movie, Boruto will request to be his apprentice.

The movie stars Yuko Senpai as Boruto, Kokoro Kikuchi as Sarada with returnees Junko Takeuchi as Naruto Uzumaki, and Noriaki Sugiyama as Sasuke Uchiha.

Anime News Network reports that the forthcoming sequel's original story, script and character designs are all handled by the original series creator, Masashi Kishimoto. Kishimoto who also served as the chief production supervisor of the project, has collaborated with Ukyo Kodachi of "Chaos Dragon" and "Neppu Kairiku Bushi Road" for the completion of the script.

Directed by Hiroyuki Yamashita, "Naruto Shippuden" episode director and "Road to Ninja: Naruto the Movie", "Boruto: Naruto the Movie" will open in Japanese theaters on August 7 with the poster released starting June 27.The movie will also make its way to non-Japanese cinemas later this year.
