Criminal Minds' fans had recently received multiple goodbyes from the cast of the show. With two of its leading stars pregnant, a lot of people have been wondering how things will go about the show but it seems like a reunion is about to happen as it has been recently confirmed that Emily Prentiss (Paget Brewster) will be coming back to the show.

Recently, the show's executive producer Erica Messer had revealed that they are looking into making Brewster's character Emily Prentiss' comeback for the season 11. "That would be fun. We haven't seen her since '200,' so it might be time to check in with her again," Messer had stated.

Regarding Jennifer Love Hewitt's character Kate Callahan, Messer had stated that although they were shocked and sad to let her go the cast as well as the crew have given the actress their full support and best wishes in her pregnancy. When asked regarding the fate of Hewitt's character Messer revealed that they opted not to kill her character leaving the door open for a possible future comeback.

"I think it might also be a good idea to leave [the position] open so we don't have to spend time introducing a new character for fans, but really dive into these people we've known and loved for 10 years." Messer had stated.

Even before the season 10 had ended Hewitt had announced her departure from the show this was due to the fact that the actress is currently expecting her second child with actor Brian Hallisay.

Meanwhile Hewitt's co-star and another Criminal Minds' regular AJ Cook had recently announced that she too is expecting a baby and might have to take a short maternity leave. In line with this, Messer had recently confirmed that A.J Cook's character Jennifer "JJ" Jareau wouldn't be appearing on the first few episodes of the show.

Criminal Minds' was renewed for season 11 on May 11, 2015.
