Adam Levine and Blake Shelton have confirmed their stay for the upcoming ninth season of the hit reality singing competition The Voice. And while there's no certainty as to who will occupy the two remaining slots, Justin Bieber was rumored to be up for the seat, replacing Christina Aguilera.

Aguilera has been one of the longest-staying judges in the competition, aside from Levine and Shelton. Though, she never had any contestants she's coached to win the competition. On season 5, she only got close to second place.

The "Dirrty" singer expressed more so that it would be fun to have another female judge in the competition. "I would love to see two females on the same season in the red chairs," she said in a recent interview with Access Hollywood Live. "We need more female power because, look what I have to put up with all alone, all by myself."

However, Radar Online said that the staff members of the show are dearly hoping that the singer would no longer return for The Voice season 9. "No one wants Christina to come back as a judge on season nine of The Voice," a source told Radar.

As former reports said, Aguilera was also very difficult to work with in the previous season. There had been frequent arguments between her and co-judge Adam Levine.  The source added, "She was really difficult to work with this season. Tensions between her and Adam were consistent, but she also just had a really bad attitude."

And while the prayers of her leaving the show are rampant, the show's producers have also been eyeing singer Justin Bieber. That is to save the show's heavily dropping ratings. Insider said they wanted to get Bieber to mix with other younger fans to get to watch the show. "The first thing the producers plan to do is change up the judging line-up and one of the seats the show wants to fill is with Justin Bieber."

If this happens, Bieber could be the youngest judge The Voice has ever had.

Pharell Williams hasn't commented about returning to the show yet. Hollywood Life stated that the showrunners are now planning on having a three-man line-up and one girl. So it's either Levine, Shelton, Bieber, and former coaches Gwen Steffani or Shakira when The Voice returns for season 9..
