Arabtec Appoints Former Deutsche Bank executive as M&A Head

Dubai's Arabtec has announced that it had appointed former Deutsche Bank executive Shohidul Ahad-Choudhury as head of mergers and acquisitions.

The construction firm said in a statement that Ahad-Choudhury will be assigned in creating new growth strategy of the company. Ahad-Choudhury will be also responsible for advising the company's new chief executive, Hasan Abdullah Ismaik.

At Deutsche Bank which he served for over 12 years, Ahad-Choudhury was responsible for the company's banking activities in Kuwait, Bahrain and Oman. He worked for Goldman Sachs International before joining bank.

The firm's management, led by top shareholder Abu Dhabi state fund Aabar, replaced their chief executive last month. The construction firm will use M&A and form joint ventures to grow organically, Ismaik said.
