Apple and Microsoft are releasing new product upgrade with iPhone 7(iPhone 6s) and Lumia 940. Microsoft plans to release its new product probably right after the Windows 10 launching while Apple expect the release in late summer or autumn this year.

iPhone 7 has a major upgrade with the 12-megapixel camera plus Sony's RGBW pixel technology and faster auto focus ability. But its leap on photographic capabilities has a negative effect where the image result may not-so-great under poor light conditions.

According to many reports, iPhone 7 (6S) is much thinner than the last iPhone 6 with its 0.2 mm. But the downside of this design is it becomes 10% dimmer than the iPhone 6 because the thinner the model, the dimmer the backlight. Apple has to solve this issue, probably by providing additional chipset for backlight.

iPhone 7 will run in an A9 processor with the Force Touch feature. Additional upgrades are also included in the new series like better Touch ID performance, extra microphone for clear voice quality and a Rose Gold handset color variant.

As for Lumia, Microsoft is planning to release two variants of the mobile. The Lumia 940 will have a 5.2-inch display with a QHD resolution (1,4440 x 2,560px). The mobile will be powered by a hexa-core processor like the Snapdragon 808 in the LG G4.It will also have a 20MP rear camera with PureView technology and a 5MP selfie camera.  Lumia 940 will also have 3,000mAh battery and 3GB of Ram and 32GB of internal storage.

For Lumia 940 XL, it will have a more powerful 3,300mAh battery and same memory storage with the 940. It has a 5.7 inches QHD resolution but only have the octa-core version of the Snapdragon 808.

Lumia 940 no longer used the Android 5.1 Lollipop because it is said to run using Windows 10 operating system. Other rumored features posted online include dual-Sim support, 3D-like interactions, pen stylus and iris-scanning.

The price speculation for the iPhone 7 starts from $649 while Lumia only cost $620. If we summarize all the specs of iPhone 7 and Lumia 940, it seems that Lumia 940 offers more upgrades to users plus the cost is much lower than the iPhone 7.  But as long as we haven't seen the product, we are not yet sure what exactly these new mobiles are capable off.
