One of the cast members of the upcoming "Terminator Genisys" film is no other than young & pretty actress Emilia Clarke, best known for portraying the royal Daenerys Targaryen in the hit tv series "Game of Thrones." It's an interesting development that "Terminator" fans who saw the trailer a few months back have noted.

Yes, it's an exciting,  new role for Emilia outside Westeros. As Sarah Connor in the female-driven instalment number 5 , she'll be shedding her 'royal' image and warlord wife aura, and getting into the character of a hardened gun-toting warrior.  The female protagonist used to be played by Linda Hamilton.

As for the storyline of "Terminator Genisys," viewers will see Arnold Schwarzenegger again, after a marked absence in "Terminator Salvation." Schwarzenegger as the time-traveling robot still generates viewer attention after what seems like ages of playing the iconic role. Decades after he first starred in the first "Terminator" movie back in 1984, the actor has gone through major life changes already.

Adding new actors to the cast ensemble has generated a bit more interest for the franchise. Jai Courtney will be playing the role of Kyle Reese, who goes back in time to the 1980s to save Sarah Connor from being destroyed by the evil young character Schwarzenegger plays.  However, there's a Terminator who has time travelled even earlier to give protection to the young  girl Sarah Connor.

So what else does "Terminator Genisys" have going for it, average movie watchers may ask. Well, the "Terminator" franchise is noted for its big, unexpected plot twists. The good guy turns out to be the villain, and vice versa.  

There's been lots of hemming & hawing about Hollywood's penchant for remakes and sequels, but another movie with the original Terminator guy and fresh new faces may yield good box office results.  The veteran actor and fresh, new female action figure come at a price, of course. "Terminator Genisys" is no doubt one of the most expensive contemporary action flicks ever produced. Get in on the action when it hits theaters in July.
