"Gotham," Fox's take on a Batman prequel series, wasn't the most well-received show this fall. But it did well enough to earn a second season, and now Fox, showrunner Bruno Heller and their motley assortment of proto-Batman characters have a chance to make things right. And they'll be making it right with a whole bunch of new villains next time around.

Already, Fox has begun casting two major mystery villains for "Gotham's" second season. Fox is looking for According to the latest buzz, "Fox's Gotham casting for Season 2 a 'male DC Villain' described as 'intelligent, cultured and highly articulate,' 'extremely attractive, both seductive and threatening,' as well as a female DC Villain in her mid- to late 20s - 'a sexy knock-out.' So get speculating!"

Those descriptors aren't really enough to identify which villains Fox is looking for to terrify Jim Gordon this fall- there are endless intelligent, articulate villains in the DC Comics pantheon, and just as many sexy knock-outs. Although some rumors have claimed Gotham will take on Mr. Freeze next season for a major arc- could this be Victor Fries and his wife Nora?

Gotham is also bringing back two major Batman villains for its second season, the Joker and the Riddler. Riddler's arc seems pretty obvious, given the season finale- he's begun killing people, and staging secret little riddles in the evidence- but Joker was only glimpsed in a single episode. The character, Jerome, was a boy with psychotic tendencies and a very Heath Ledger-like laugh. Hopefully, we'll see more than one episode's worth of the Joker next time around.

Fish Mooney is also rumored to return, but for only a handful of episodes. Her character was seemingly killed off in the season finale (dropped off a very high balcony), but Jada Pinkett Smith has been playing coy as to whether Fish is truly dead. "Gotham's" second season premieres this fall on Fox.
