GeForce GTX 980 Ti graphics card may be Nvidia's most talked-about product to date but its eventual launching could have been driven by fear. Not the fear that you'd get from werewolves. No, sir. But more of a corporate thing that makes one big enterprise such as Nvidia to get its act together at a faster rate.

Recent reports reveal the Sta. Clara, California tech giant is hastening the launching of what could be its most potent product yet, the GeForce GTX 980 Ti graphics card. Specifically, Nvidia is expected to launch the flagship product this June, in Computex, the annual computer expo in Taipei, Taiwan.

Largely, this is contrary to what went a-churning in the rumor mill early this year. Most everybody thought users will be seeing the GM200-based card by September. But no, Nvidia reneges on these rumors. So what gives?

What many of this speculation bellies is that such an earlier launching of the GeForce GTX 980 Ti graphics card is a strategic move. It's no accident Nvidia jumpstarts the launch.

To understand these product movements, we have to dig deeper at corresponding movements happening around the tech giant.

And ultimately it brings us to its most competitive rival, AMD. It's no secret AMD and Nvidia have been locked in a steep rivalry when you talk about graphics card - most especially the ones that run the mobile world.

To note, Nvidia's GPU products labeled as "GeForce" are in direct competition with AMD's "Radeon" products.

Because of this, it's safe to say you can't finish a conversation about Nvidia without the mentioning AMD. And vice-versa.

However, there is more to the surface than a healthy rivalry. Current CEO and co-founder of Invidai, Jen-Hsun Huang used to be an employ at AMD. He worked as a microprocessor designer at Advanced Micro Devices or AMD.

It is therefore logical for Nvidia to preempt market movements of AMD. And this is where things get interesting.

Reportedly, the California tech titan is launching its GeForce GTX 980 Ti graphics card earlier to outmaneuver AMD's next generation Radeon graphics cards or more specifically the new HBM-enabled Radeon R9 390X flagship graphics card. Said microchip ensemble from AMD is set to launch September or later this year.

For the uninitiated, Nvidia microprocessors run a slew of smartphones: HTC One X, LG phones to name a few. Also their graphic cards run on Asus and Acer.

This time around, Nvidia wants to be first in the marketing battlefield and it does not want to lose ground as much as possible. And to drive its advantage some more, Nvidia is set to make its GTX 980 Ti retail-available.
