There isn't much official info out about The Expendables 4, but one piece of news that seemed fairly certain about Sylvester Stallone's next action hero-packed pic was that Manny Pacquiao would have a role in the film. But just recently, it's been confirmed, from Stallone's very mouth, that Pacquiao won't be starring in the next Expendables film.

Stallone was recently asked about Pacquiao's involvement in the film, and while he confirmed that he and the boxer are friends (and that stars like Arnold Schwarzenegger will always have a place in the star-studded franchise), Stallone openly stated that Manny Pacquiao won't be in the film.

Recently, it was noted by Pacquiao's manager that acting isn't his #1 priority- that he's more interested in getting further into politics, and may be pursuing a state senate seat in the Phillipines in 2016. That puts a big damper on Pacquiao's Expendables plans, even before he lost his legendary fight with Floyd Mayweather, Jr.

It's also been rumored that Jackie Chan also turned down a major role in the fourth Expendables film, something that bodes poorly for the franchise. The Expendables 3 did not do well at the box office- partly due to sagging interest in the franchise, and partly due to the film leaking online beforehand (a major setback), and while there have been numerous spin-off ideas thrown around, like an Expendables TV series, a horror movie-themed Expendables and an all-female ExpendaBelles film, Pacquiao's decline may be one nail closer to the Expendables' coffin being nailed shut.

Although there are others still rumored for Expendables 4 roles- Pierce Brosnan, Hulk Hogan and Steven Seagal have all had their names considered for an Expendables part at some point in the past. Can Sylvester Stallone cobble together enough new talent to keep his action-packed Expendables franchise afloat?
