The American comedy-drama TV series "Hart of Dixie" might cancel its fifth season, as lead actress Rachel Bilson wants to focus on being a full-time mother to her daughter, Briar Rose.

During the fourth season of the said show, Rachel Bilson expressed her intentions of leaving the show to spend more time with her daughter. During an interview of the actress with Jamie King, she revealed that Rachel got pregnant and wanted to take a maternity leave, which every woman is entitled to, during the fourth season of the show.

In an E! News interview, King disclosed that there are various things being deemed why the studio is now at par in pursuing Zoe Hart's story.

"It's a tricky situation because it really isn't about ratings for us," she admitted. "It's not like a ratings issue it was more of a timing issue. Rachel Bilson got pregnant and wanted to take maternity leave. Every woman has a right to do that. I think that everything has an imp at on the way things are decided upon. It's very interesting because our fans are so devoted."

The CW network has not made confirmations of the renewal of the show and if it would come back for its fifth season. With the rumors that its lead actress has intentions to leave the show, there is a great possibility that its season finale aired last March 27 would be the last of the show. Apparently, news that the show is not doing good in terms of ratings is not the real reason for the show's cancellation.

Rachel Bilson left Los Angeles with long-time boyfriend and daughter. The couple wanted to be sure that their child would grow far from showbusiness and be a normal kid. So, if the network decides to continue with fifth season of  "Hart of Dixie", greater chances are the entire cast would have to go on with their job without the actress.
