Creator and animation director Chris Buck of the film "Frozen 2" hinted recently that the sequel of the hit animated film "Frozen" will be based on a popular book.

According to a report, Chris Buck went to Australia and was able to stumble upon the famous book of L. Frank Baum entitled "Ozma of Oz" and he was inspired to sort of pattern the sequel of "Frozen" from the said story.

Buck pointed out in a recent interview that the protagonists of the film, Anna and Elsa, might be battling an evil king in "Frozen 2." The sequel already has an ending but Buck shared that there are still so many things to figure out as they go along the way.

"Ozma of Oz" and "Frozen 2" will have a lot of similarities because Anna of Arendelle and Dorothy of Kansas have a lot of characteristics in common. Both books have a theme of having the power within and just figuring out what to do with it for the best interest of everyone involved.

Buck also expressed that they are indeed pressured and overwhelmed regarding the high expectations of the fans of the film for "Frozen 2." Buck and fellow director, Jennifer Lee, feel that they have to match the first movie resulting to the delay of the announcement that a sequel is on the works.

Rumors that Prince Hans, the one who wanted to take over the kingdom of Anna and Elsa, will be part of the second film has started to surface. He will reportedly be a good character in the sequel as a new villain will be featured.

Frozen 2 release date will in 2018 and it is one of the highly-anticipated films in that year. "Frozen" grossed over $1.27 billion in 2014 and the sequel is expected to gross as much or even more.

"Frozen" is one of Disney's highest grossing films of all time and has also won Oscar awards when it was released last year. There is still no definite date with regards to the movie hitting the cinemas near you  but it will be shown in 2018.
