A new concept about Microsoft's Lumia 940 XL shows excellent features such as a 5.4-inch Super AMOLED display with Quad HD resolution, 4 GB of RAM, 32 GB of storage, and many more. On the other hand, rumors also point to a Lumia 940 XL that is going to have a 5.7-inch screen, hexa-core or octa-core processor, 24-25 MP rear camera, and others.

A new concept of the Lumia 940 XL was surfaced on the net that showed latest features such as Intel Atom x7 64-bit quad-core processor, 5.4-inch Super AMOLED display with Quad HD resolution, 4 GB of RAM, 32 GB of storage that can be supported with a microSD card of up to 128 GB, 24.2 MP rear camera, and 8 MP front camera.

Additional details about the concept device include a 6.8mm thickness, PureView mega technology for the rear and front cameras, Carl Zeiss optics, dual LED flash, 2160p video capture, and with various color variants to choose from such as black, green, orange, and silver/white.

Lumia 940 XL rumors

Meanwhile, The Next Digit cited reports that Microsoft has sold over 8.6 million Lumia devices in the first quarter of 2015. This means that Microsoft had an increase of revenue reaped during this period, which is estimated to be about $1.4 billion.

Further, Microsoft is also said to be preparing for the launching of Lumia 940 and Lumia 940 XL, which are rumored to be possibly introduced together with the Windows 10 operating system. The Lumia 940 XL is said to come out with a 5.7-inch screen, 24-25 MP rear camera, 5 MP or higher MP front camera, and a hexa-core or octa-core processor. It could also include features such as iris scanner, 3D-interaction, and native Pen support.

NPU noted, "We don't have confirmed info about processor and display resolution as of now but Microsoft may go for bleeding-edge specs, we hear."

It was not only the Lumia 940 XL that was mentioned, but as well as a mid-range phone that could have a 5-inch screen, Dual-Sim support, 13-14 MP rear camera with PureView, 5 MP front camera, and better processor that may be similar or slightly modified to Lumia 830. The name of the device was not mentioned, however, speculations named it as Lumia 840.
