20th Century Fox has announced that the blockbuster animation movie "Ice Age" is ready to sail through worldwide theaters on June 15, 2016.

However, this brings in bittersweet anticipation as "Ice Age 5" has also been set as the last stop for the "Ice Age Series".

The successful movie franchise has garnered $2.8 billion with its past four releases in the box office, proving that 20th Century Fox is a house of blockbusters in animated films. Additionally, "Ice Age" is also the 11th highest grossing franchise of all time and the second highest grossing animated franchise in a global scale, and each release garnering the highest grossing animated film for its kind.

Whether the past cast of voice talents will also feature in the upcoming movie remains a mystery. The Wrap recounts the past voice characters in the 2012 edition "Ice Age: Continental Drift" including Ray Romano, who will most likely return as he voices the lead character Manny, the wool mammoth, Denis Leary, John Leguizamo, Jennifer Lopez, Queen Latifah, Aziz Ansari, Joy Behar, Peter Dinklage, Drake, Nick Frost, Josh Gad, Nicki Minaj, Keke Palmer, Josh Peck, Simon Pegg, Seann William Scott, Patrick Stewart, Wanda Sykes, Alan Tudyk, Rebel Wilson, and last but not the least, the original "Ice Age" co-director Chris Wedge, who voices the fan-favorite squirrel, Scrat.

The plot of the next "Ice Age" will start from the island where the last Continental Drift Chapter ended so avid fans can expect more spontaneity with the story of the upcoming movie.

This chapter has Manny and his gang realize that Scrat, as always, has caused the continental crack that may possibly end the world.

Scrat stays on the beach and here we have Sid speaking his tone-deaf lines out and the rest trying so hard to get their sanity back. In the end, Manny couldn't take it anymore and screams, "Quiet!". They then hear a crack and wonder who caused it. Who could it be?

It has also been revealed that "Ice Age 5" will be coming after a Marvel movie and the sequel of "Independence Day".
