Ray Donovan has to be about Ray Donovan, right? His name's right there in the title. And besides, the last two season of the Showtime crime drama have been all about Hollywood fixer Ray Donovan (Liev Schreiber) and his wife, children and troublesome father Mickey (Jon Voight).

However, the latest rumor about Ray Donovan's third season claims the show's new episodes might not spend so much time with the Donovan family. ScreenFad, who reported on the casting of Mad Men actor Aaron Staton in the series' third season, also reported that Ray Donovan season three "is said to expand its focus away from the Donovan family and spotlight another dysfunctional family hiding away in the hills of Los Angeles."

Could Staton be playing one member of that family? His character is allegedly "Mr. Donellen," a high school teacher with some kind of dark secret buried within his past. According to ScreenFad, the role is a major one for the season, along with Ian McShane, who's also joining Ray Donovan this year.

However, some major shake-ups are occurring behind the scenes of Ray Donovan. Already, Ann Biderman, the show's original creator and showrunner, has left and left control of the next season in someone else's hands. Now, another major Ray Donovan producer has quit- Cheo Hodari Coker, who's leaving to focus on Marvel's Luke Cage, which is rumored to premiere on Netflix sometime next year.

That's got to be worrisome for Showtime- to have two major players leave Ray Donovan in such a short span of time. But given the amount of guest stars set to appear this season- along with Staton and McShane, Katie Holmes is set for a major arc and may even have an affair with Ray- fans shouldn't be worried.

Showtime has just revealed the premiere date for Ray Donovan's third season. The show will air its third season premiere on July 12, 2015.
