"Divergent: Allegiant Part 1" will finally introduce David, Tris' greatest archenemy. Reports indicate that Aaron Eckhart was previously tapped for the role. Theo James revealed that the film versions will remain faithful to the book despite the petitions to change its movie ending, things look grim for Tris in the upcoming "Insurgent" sequel.

The "Divergent" series film adaptations are already halfway done but new characters are still set to challenge Tris and Tobias. Aaron Eckhart is the strongest contender to play David, Tris' nemesis in the book series who is the leader of the Bureau of Genetic Welfare. David will also play an important role in the second part of "Allegiant.".

A report said that prior to the production of "Divergent", the Aaron Eckhart was approached to join the film adaptations. If Eckhart will accept the offer, his character will be responsible for the genetically damaged and genetically pure experiments being the head of Bureau of Genetic Welfare. The "Divergent" series diehards also know that David will shoot Tris multiple times towards the end of the series, causing her death.

Theo James, who plays Tobias in the film versions, hints that the "Allegiant" film adaptations will keep the vital scenes of the book. Fans were stunned after the release of "Insurgent" due to the drastic changes that took place in the movie. James said that it won't happen in the anticipated third and fourth sequel.

"Not huge [changes], no. I think they were able to consolidate with the third movie and kind of consolidate all the key elements of the book. I think it's gonna be pretty similar. I think the luxury of this one is that we have time to tell the book over two movies," Theo James said in an interview.

If that's the case, then the last "Allegiant" film will really show David's character, who will most likely be played by Aaron Eckhart, kill the main protagonist in the film. Despite the petitions to change the film's ending, it seems the "Allegiant" opts to follow the events in the source material.

"Divergent: Allegiant Part 1" is expected to hit the cinemas on 2016. Will the upcoming film stay true to the bitter end of the Novel? Stay tuned for more updates!
