LG G3 users have experienced a lot of unforeseen issues over the LG G3 Android Lollipop update and have expressed their frustrations in many forums - Reddit including - recently. LG and its partner carriers may have moved heaven and earth to push these software improvements to its G3 users but issues have sprouted. Chief among them is one on forced update - especially with the AT&T G3 users, not allowing users to deny themselves the updates.

Plus a slew of glitches - battery, Wi-Fi and memory leak for instance - have surfaced that made many LG G3 users long for more desirable updates, the Android 5.1 and 5.1.1 which are in the works.

Rammed Down Their Throats

Beware the adventurous, those LG G3 users who wanting more functionality and style rooted, added Xposed modules and tweaked their devices, for the Android 5.0 update could be mandatory.

This is especially true for AT&T subscribers who found out to their surprise that the device updated on its own even when they specifically turn the update down and hit dismiss, as reported on Androidcentral since February.

This is worrisome for those who chose to go the "wait-and-see" mode to see if major bugs appear on the horizon before plunging in.

Added to this, once you've updated you may not get your hands on the old on-screen buttons and will have to do with two notifications at a time. Also, forget about the double tap option for notifications as announced by Google as it doesn't work making you go by the swipe and unlock to interact.

Another frustrating complication is the apparent memory leak issue which causes apps to crash, freeze or drag its feet on many occasions.

Some Quick Fixes

Though not comprehensive there are many tweaks you could pull out to get the job done.

For charging issues where the Lollipop update could actually slow down charging, you could try using Qualcomm Quick Charge technology which is similar to the Nexus 6 and Galaxy S6, according to GottabeMobile.

The complication could be more dramatic if you're not using the wall wart charger which came with the G3 as the smartphone charging tends to crawl. For this, a quality micro-USB charger or a stock charger could get you the results in a jiffy.

Lastly, you could be experiencing battery drain. More often than not, this could be caused by third-party apps that do not support the Android 5.0 lollipop. To get over this, check if any of these apps are running, head to settings > battery.

Clearing the data and cache should also extend your battery life.

And for a strong move, you can initiate the tried-and-tested reboot for your G3. This should iron out some of those general issues that are bogging your phone.

Now, for all the complications, LG G3 users are looking forward to the Android 5.1 and Android 5.1.1 for best results.
