'23 Jump Street' is Real and It Includes All Those Fake Sequels: Movie Release sets New Title

One of the greatest things about last summer's 22 Jump Street was the film's ending credits- and endless spoof of the endless sequels every Hollywood franchise ends up getting, showing off parody posters, trailers and pieces of product placement for everything from 23 Jump Street, 29 Jump Street and as far into the future as Infinity Jump Street.

Now, for the completely unbelievable part- directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller have just announced that they will actually be making another Jump Street sequel. And not only that, but the sequel will include every single sequel spoof included in the 22 Jump Street credits. They're all canon now. Every single one of them.

According to Cinema Blend, here's what Phil Lord explained about the new sequel:

"We've found a way that we love that makes those imagined sequels canonical and yet does something that we haven't told you about yet. The sequels are canon."

There's still quite a bit about this next sequel we don't know- for example, that extra "something" that Lord and MIller haven't told us about yet. But just as important is the title. We all kind of assumed that another Jump Street movie would be called 23 Jump Street. That just makes sense, right? But 23 Jump Street has, in the official Jump Street canon, already been completed, so obviously the next Jump Street movie will need a different title. And something unique, probably given that essentially every possible sequel title has already been taken by 22 Jump Street's ending credits title barrage.

There's also the possibility of a Men In Black/Jump Street crossover; something that's been legitimately considered by Sony, as ridiculous as it sounds. Lord and Miller didn't mention that one when they spilled the first 23 Jump Street sequel details, but for all we know, we'll be getting Channing Tatum, Jonah Hill, Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones in the same movie.
