OnePlus made its initial hit in the mobile market with the release of its OnePlus One in 2014. The Chinese smart phone manufacturer had designed the OnePlus One to rival the latest devices of its time, the Samsung Galaxy S5 and the Google Nexus 5. OnePlus had succeeded with its goal to produce a high end mobile phone at a considerably low price. But will the mobile manufacturer succeed in launching another high end smart phone?

OnePlus is on its way in producing the OnePlus Two codenamed Lettuce. Interesting enough, OnePlus had named its devices with BLT's. The OnePlus One was nicknamed Bacon, so it might come to no surprise if the OnePlus Three will be named "Tomato".

The next generation OnePlus Two might deviate a little from its company's original goal of providing a low priced smart phone. Why? It is rumored that the OnePlus Two will be sporting a metal frame which would make it more costly. But rest assured, even if the frame would bring an increase in price, the device would still be more affordable than Samsung.

According to GizmoChina, OnePlus Two will be featuring a fingerprint scanner which is now the trend in the latest Samsung and Apple phones. The report notes:

"This time around, the leaked features suggest that the device will have something interesting called a laser focus fingerprint identification embedded in the home button. What is more, the front of the device will look similar to the Oppo Find 7, which does not surprise us as the OnePlus One looks very similar to the latter smartphone. Also, there will be regular capacitive Android 5.0 buttons on the sides."

Another thing which will be new to the upcoming OnePlus Two is that it will now be hosting an Oxygen OS. The Chinese mobile manufacturer had completely severed its ties with Cyanogen. The new Oxygen OS had focused on improving the mobile's battery life and system efficiency.

The OnePlus Two rumored to possess a Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 chip with a 32 GB storage and a 3100 mAh battery cell. However, other reports would claim that the device would run with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 CPU with a 4GB RAM.

With regards to the release date, OnePlus Two will be out in Q2 or Q3 of 2015. This is according to the statement released in the Reddit AMA session reported via KnowYourMobile. The company will still continue its Invite-only strategy for the OnePlus Two.
