Bioware, developer of Mass Effect has previously announced little details of the game during the N7 Day event held last year. Basically, the story will focus on a fresh character different from Commander Shepard, a source said. Also, the site mentioned that it will still be a cooperative multiplayer along with a much better, faster and a new version of Mako. Bioware also decided to set the story entirely different with Mass Effect 3 where it received a lot of negative feedbacks from gamers and fans alike. In the new Mass Effect, it will set in a new region of space where the series can start afresh.

Moreover, the new Mass Effect suggests that it focuses on exploration of the new characters which does not speak solely about geography. Exploration according to Bioware includes discovering other races and species and exploration the character's abilities and skills as well.

Meanwhile, sources say that although Bioware's focus this year will be the new Mass Effect, it wouls be unlikely that its release will be happening this year considering that Gamble emphasized that it is still in the early stages of development.

Furthermore, Mass Effect 4 is still on the works despite of the early leaks that were already revealed. Bioware may be revealing few more details but a release this year will be very unlikely.
