Kim Soo Hyun Officially Confirmed Lead Role In Latest KBS Drama, 'Producer'

South Korean actor Kim Soo Hyun officially confirmed his lead role in KBS' new drama, Producers. The 27-year-old actor and singer long expressed his desire to work with Park Ji Eun, the creator of My Love from Another Star and now of upcoming KBS drama 'Producer'.

Kim Soo-hyun is best remembered for his roles in hit TV dramas Moon Embracing the Sun (n which he played as the young King Lee Hown), Dream High, and the most recent, My Love from the Star. The success of his dramas earned him several CFs and project invitations. Before his debut into the big screen, the actor initially rose to fame as simple-minded musical genius Song Sam-dong in teen drama Dream High. 

Aside from the Kim Soo-hyun, the drama also boasts a celebrated cast ensemble, consisting of IU, Kim Jong Kook, Gong Hyo Jin, and Cha Tae Hyun as the main characters. It was also released that Seo Ki Chul, Na Young Hee, Park Hyuk Kwon, Jo Yoon Hee, Ye Ji Won will play minor roles in the upcoming KBS drama. 

Producers revolves around the lives and careers of different producers and the celebrities they handle. It involves an interesting mix of veteran PDs and rookies, which Kim Soo-hyun is reportedly playing. IU is being courted to portray a frosty star with a perfect reputation and a general distrust of others. IU and Kim Soo-hyun had worked together before in Dream High, and fans are excited at this possible reunion.

The drama is well on its way. Lead actors Kim Soo Hyun and Kim Jong Kook recently attended the first script reading. The script reading allegedly ensued covertly, and under the careful eye of security. No information was released to the public, but the actors were pictured leaving a wedding hall in Gangnam, according to Drama Fever. Producers is scheduled to air around April or early May this year.
