Even without a concrete release date, plot line or even a title, the simple announcement of a "Frozen 2" sequel of the Oscar-winning movie is more than enough to send excitement and anticipation to the fans of the Disney cartoon movie.

Robert Iger, Disney's chief executive officer and John Lasseter, head of the Walt Disney Animation Studios tipped about the upcoming sequel last March 12, 2015 during the company's annual shareholder meeting in San Francisco.

"We enjoyed making Frozen Fever so much and being back in that world with those characters," according to John Lasseter. "Jennifer Lee and Chris Buck have come up with a great idea for a sequel and you will be hearing a lot more about it and we're taking you back to Arendelle," he continued.

The box-office movie that generated a whopping $1.27 billion in the movies is considered as the highest-grossing animated film of all time defeating The Lion Kin on third place and Toy Story 3 on the second place. Some blockbuster movies only take weeks before an official sequel reveal, something that did not happen for Frozen.

But with the popularity of the movie and the record breaking sales of its merchandise since its release, a sequel was definitely something expected from the series. Even the movie's soundtrack "Let It Go" remains undefeated. Josh Gad, the voice behind Olaf was present during the announcement and is confirmed to reprise the voice of the popular snow man. No other returning casts from the earlier movie was announced.

Disney and Pixar are definitely seizing the iron while it is still hot in its latest move to create a sequel for the movie. "Frozen 2" even went to the top of the trending topics in Twitter a day after the announcement.

Several movies under Disney's belt that are being considered to be launched in the cinemas include The Incredibles 2 and Ghostbusters. A rumored Christmas release this 2015 is speculated for the movie.
