The possibility of Big Hero 6 joining the Marvel Universe is more likely than it's ever been. Big Hero 6, the latest animated film from Disney, has been scoring huge at the box office without anyone making a big deal about it. Until now, anyway. It's been confirmed that Big Hero 6 is now the third-highest grossing Disney animated film in history- a huge win for the film, especially after it cleared the mark for third-highest grossing domestic Disney animated film a few weeks back.

Big Hero 6 has made $604.8 million at the box office already, which pushed the film past Tangled this weekend to claim the number three spot. Number two is The Lion King, with $987.5 million, and number one is Frozen, with a monstrous $1.27 billion. And with all this talk of Big Hero 6's success, is this the number that finally gives Disney the go-ahead to make another Big Hero 6 film- or even consider the possibility of a Marvel crossover?

Big Hero 6 is already technically a Marvel property- it's based off a comic book of the same name, although Disney altered it drastically, chaning almost everything besides the characters' names. But it's Marvel nonetheless, which means that there's always a possibility of Big Hero 6 being included in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Obviously, you couldn't put the Big Hero 6 alongside the Avengers for one blaringly obvious reason- Hiro and Baymax are computer animated characters, while Iron Man and Thor are live-action. Still, there's the possibility of creative cameos from both sides.

And co-director Chris Williams has stated he'd love to make a sequel at some point, saying "We're in the middle of that phase. So we haven't talked about or thought about any sequels or anything like that. Having said that, of course, we love these characters, and the thought of working with them again some day definitely has its appeal."

Big Hero 6 is a confirmed moneymaker. It's also a franchise that's received a lot of love and has a sizable fanbase growing. A Marvel crossover with Big hero 6 kinda seems inevitable... doesn't it?
