After taking the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2015 by storm in Barcelona, Spain for Galaxy S6 Edge, Samsung Electronics now zeroes in on the possibility of bringing in dual-edge display for the next Samsung smartphones, including the next Galaxy Note.

In a news conference in Barcelona, executive vice president of Samsung's product strategy team Roh Tae-moon expressed the sporting chances of the unique curved display to upcoming Galaxy Note. "There is a possibility that Samsung will introduce the curved display for the Galaxy Note lineup," said Roh.

The South Korean tech titan revealed its new flagship smartphones Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge at the MWC 2015, deemed Samsung's hugest gathering of the year. Galaxy S6 Edge garnered rounds of claps at the event for its finest design believed that only Apple can pull off with their iPhones. The Edge sports a curved display whose screens extends to the sides of the handset.

Samsung first employed the curved display in last year's Galaxy Note Edge. However, the screen extends to the right side only, leading to mediocre sales. Thus, making tech experts doubted the new dual-edge display at first. Earlier, Samsung CEO Shin Jong-kyun expressed the firm's renewed commitment to the Edge model.

"We will make a strong push for the S6 Edge. It will outpace its predecessor (the Galaxy Note 4 Edge) in terms of sales," he said. Although still in its early age, Shin furthered that Samsung will promote the edge display "by sharing software development kit and application programming interface for developers to come up with a range of more practical application."

IHS analyst Jerry Kang underscores that Samsung will take advantage of the curved display in the coming months to make up with the mediocre sales of previous Samsung devices. Official pricing of Galaxy S6 Edge has not been announced yet but tech analyst Jerry Kang estimates it might be 10 percent higher than the iPhone 6.

"Samsung has lost its ground in the high-end segment to Apple since the Galaxy S5 launch. The company may use the flexible OLED display as a means to restore its reputation as a powerhouse of both design and hardware," said Kang.

Samsung has yet to reveal the official pricing of the model. Kang estimated the price to be 10 percent higher than the iPhone 6.
