'Sleepy Hollow' Season 3 renewal may be not happening, as the second season's ratings dropped seriously.

TV Series Finale claimed that the show has been a very different story in season two. The second season's premiere drew a 2.0 demo rating with 5.59 million viewers - a new series low. The numbers took a big dip in week two and have gotten worse as the weeks have worn on. It was also said that Sleepy Hollow hit yet another new low last week with a 1.2 demo rating and 3.87 million viewers.

The source also compared it to the show's first season, which garnered an average of 2.6 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 7.46 million viewers.

Zap2it also predicted that 'Sleepy Hollow' Season 3 is no longer certain to be renewed by FOX.  They have downgraded the show from 'certain' to 'less likely' after the Saturday's renewal.

One factor that the show's ratings dropped badly is the inconsistency of the story from the previous season. Previously, it was reported that the second season of the show seemed to be different than how they have started. Some fans even asked if the writers of the show had brainstormed on the direction of the show.

Speaking of story, Ichabod Crane (Mison) hinted in an interview with TVLine that the show needs a dramatic reinvention if it returned for a third season.

"If we do get a third season, it would definitely be a reboot," he teased. "It certainly felt, after watching [the finale], particularly the last 20 minutes of it, it certainly felt like we've acknowledged the show that everyone loved, and we can still do it."

The actor continued: "If there is no third season, then it certainly feels like ending it on a high and rounding it off nicely."

While there is no solid confirmation from the TV network yet, fans can only hope for the fate of 'Sleepy Hollow' Season 3 if it's going to be cancelled or renewed.
