Lee Min Ho’s ‘Faith’ hailed best Korean drama in Japan; Actor to receive commendation in the ‘Korean Pop Culture and Arts Awards;’ Event organizers cancel Re: Minho in Singapore

Lee Min Ho's drama "Faith" was recently chosen as the Best Korean Drama in Japan. According to the actor's agency, the SBS drama which aired in 2012 was named best Korean drama at the recently concluded GyaO Entertainment Awards 2014 held at the Hikari Hall in Shibuya, Tokyo.

The event gave recognitions to Japanese and foreign movies and TV dramas, animation, as well and Korean drama, Enews reports. Winners were chosen based on the past year's total streaming videos sales through the "GyaO Store."

According to Soompi, "Faith" tells a time travel story which revolves around loyalty to one's own nation as well as love that goes beyond centuries. The story also stars Kim Hee Sun.

Meanwhile, the actor 27-year-old actor will be recognized in the upcoming Korean Pop Culture and Arts Awards on November 17. It was announced on November 11, that Lee Min Ho, fellow actor Kim Soo Hyun, and singer Jin Mi Ryung will be awarded the Prime Minister Commendation. Idol group EXO, actor Lee Seunggi, along with other names in the Korean entertainment industry will receive commendation from the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism.

Meanwhile, the Singapore leg of Lee Min Ho's 2014 global tour, "Re: Minho" was cancelled after previous reports of postponement, KpopStars reports. Seoul Girls Collection (Korea), the event's organizer, released the following statement on November 11.

"This is Seoul Girls Collection.

We would like to take this opportunity to apologize to the Singapore fans who have been waiting for the Lee Min Ho's Singapore concert on November 9 and also to Minho who has been looking forward to meeting his fans in Singapore.

We, as an organizer, did our best to make the successful show, but we faced unexpected situation that was caused by our company so we couldn't help canceling the show.

We are sincerely sorry that we couldn't do the show preparation perfectly and made a lot of fans disappointed and confused.

Now we dare seek your understanding and ask you to refund your ticket as soon as possible. 

We sincerely apologize to the Singapore fans again."

In other news, Lee Min Ho has finished filming his action movie "Gangnam Blues."  The film, which marks his first lead role in the big screen, is slated to for release in January.
