Mode Lifestyle magazine named South Korean model and actress Clara Lee as second most beautiful woman in the world. The news came as a surprise as she bested some renowned celebrities such as Angelina Jolie, Beyonce, and Scarlett Johansson.

According to KDramaStars, Clara was the only female Asian celebrity in the top 10 of the "100 Most Beautiful Woman of the World 2014." The list, which was published by Mode Lifestyle magazine, included some of the most famous singers, models, and actresses.

During the awards announcement press conference, a representative from the magazine said, "Clara has both the physical beauty and sprightly charms, to qualify her for Mode's first Asian cover girl."

Allkpop quoted her saying, "I'm grateful that people not only in Korea but also overseas are looking at me prettily with a good heart. I want to make sure to relay my thanks to my fans both domestic and foreign through this opportunity."

The stop spot went to American model Tania Marie Caringi while Romanian model Cristina Maria Saracut got the third place.

Hollywood actress and model Jessica Alba came in fourth place was ranked in fourth place. Alessandra Ambrosio, Famous Brazilian Victoria's Secret model bagged the fifth spot on the list. Victoria's Secret models Candice Swanepoel and Adriana Lima were in eighth and ninth place, respectively.

Renowned actress Angelina Jolie came in tenth place.

Clara started her career as an actress in 2005 via the movie "Five Senses of Eros." She gained much attention when she threw out the ceremonial first pitch in a Korean baseball game in the summer of 2013. She became a trending topic because of her outfit during the ceremonial pitch. Clara wore form-fitting leggings that revealed her model figure.

According to The Korea Times, she was quoted by a sports media outlet saying it was an honor for her to be recognized by international media and that she would "use the recognition to positively influence society."

She also caught attention when she was cast in "Emergency Couple" where she played intern Han Ah Reum. The actress-model was also cast in the 2014 film "Working Girl."

Clara, together with designer Choi Bum Suk, also recently placed second in the SBS fashion competition show "Fashion King Korea: Season 2."
