Kim Hyun Joong's girlfriend may have dropped the charges of domestic abuse against him, but this does not mean he will not answer to anything at all. Apparently, because he admitted to one physical altercation that happened between him and his ex-girlfriend, the police has still forwarded his case to the prosecutor's office.

Channel News Asia shares that Kim Hyun Joong admitted to hitting his girlfriend by accident in an argument that happened in May. After three of the four charges has been dropped, this one is forwarded by the police to the prosecutor's office not as an assault charge, but as a bodily harm case, clarifies AllKPop.

KpopStarz reports that Kim Hyun Joong's admission to a physical altercation is the reason why the police considered it their responsibility to pursue the case despite his ex-girlfriend dropping the charges of domestic abuse against him. Kim Hyun Joong initially faced four cases, but on September 29, only one charge has been submitted.

On September 15, a legal representative for Kim Hyun Joong allegedly spoke to Star News to reveal that the charges will be dropped after issuing a formal apology. Kim Hyun Joong's website showed the apology the very same day.

The Straits Times shares: "Out of the four charges that were filed by the ex-girlfriend, three were dropped after the 'Boys Over Flowers' star apologized to her. The only charge that was forwarded to the prosecutor's office was the charge for the assault that gave the woman an injury with a two-week recovery period."

According to CTV News, the woman had bruises on her arms and several scratch marks on her knees after being struck multiple times. The woman also allegedly hit Kim Hyun Joong back, with the actor telling the police that the fight was "mutual."

In the apology issued by Kim Hyun Joong to his ex-girlfriend, Channel News Asia reports that he is "very ashamed" and "have done what a man should never do." Kim Hyun Joong further admitted that everything was his fault and that the apology extends to the family of his ex-girlfriend as well. Also according to Kim Hyun Joong: "I will learn from this and strive to become a healthy, upright person."
