"The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies" to Have a Massive Comic-Con Presence, Celebrate One Last Time Before "The Hobbit" is Gone Forever

After this December, there will never be another "Lord of the Rings" or "Hobbit"-related movie in theaters.

Ever.

(Probably).

And that's a tough situation to deal with. But to help us through these troubling times is New LIne Cinemas, who've set up a massive "The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies" panel at the upcoming New York Comic Con in October.

Enstars has the news, saying there will be a huge "Hobbit" presence at this year's NYCC (makes sense, given the whole "last 'Hobbit' ever" thing), and that there will be a "special" panel that will give fans all kinds of new details about the upcoming final "Hobbit" film.

According to TheOneRing.net, the panel will have all kinds of merchandise, giveaways, spoilers for the upcoming film (be careful), food, and a massive party to celebrate the end of "The Hobbit." As well, the panel will be partnering with WETA (the studio that handles all of the "Hobbit" and "The Lord of the Rings" effects work). Composer Howard Shore and actors Karl Urban and Manu Bennett will also be at NYCC to celebrate.

But here's a detail you won't need to attend NYCC to find out- just how Peter Jackson expanded the original "Hobbit" material from the novel into his final "Hobbit" film. The filmmaker spoke to Total Film (via Flickering Myth), saying:

"We're developing more story with the elves and with Gandalf. We're developing the character of Bard the Bowman. We're able to expand what was there, bring in a little bit extra to the mythology and open it up a bit. What we're trying to do is have a lot of that conflict and resolution happen during the course of the battle, so it doesn't just become all action. There's still a plot with the characters to follow, even though they're surrounded by fighting trolls and orcs and things."

Check back soon for the latest "Hobbit" news.
