Male artists dominate this year's highest paid hip-hop acts according to Forbes magazine. The list also shows different avenues of hip-hop artists to gain and earn millions of dollars. With the acquisition of Beats by Apple worth $3 billion dollars, this made co-founder Dr. Dre rise to the top of the rank, beating the king of hip-hop, Jay-Z.

Most of these hip-hop icons have already been in the business for decades and they have changed the face of the industry. Almost all of them are award-winning artists, garnering various nominations and awards from the prestigious Grammy Awards. This proves their worth to be part of the list and ranked as one of the significant hip-hop acts of this generation.

Compared to last year's list of highest-paid hip-hop acts, Diddy had the leading spot with only $50 million dollars. Now, from third spot of last year, Dr. Dre is the person to beat, thanks to the Apple and Beats deal that allows him to top other 24 hip-hop acts combined. Previously, Nicki Minaj was the top hip-hop representation of women with $29 million dollars and now ranked out from the list.
