Android phones, Nokia XL and Samsung Galaxy S Duos 2 are being compared to one another. The phones are comparable in some aspects such as RAM and speed, but in terms of screen size and battery life, Nokia's handset may be the winner.

Although both are considered Android phones, IB Times  clarifies that Nokia comes from the X series, which runs on the Nokia X platform. This means that Nokia XL "can access Android apps, but it is not like the traditional android." The article also mentions that some of the Google apps that do not work on the phone are replaced by Microsoft services. Meanwhile, Samsung Galaxy S Duos 2 is a hybrid of two Android phones, Samsung Galaxy S2 and its predecessor, Samsung Galaxy S3.

According to The Rem, most of Samsung's phones run on Android, while Nokia XL is from Nokia's only Android Line up. This will also be the last lineup, as KpopStarz says that Microsoft, which now owns Nokia, has announced that there will no longer be any Android handsets from the company.

Aside from these, there is also a notable screen size difference between the two smartphones. In detail, KpopStarz notes that Samsung's phone has a 4-inch TFT capacitive touchscreen, while Nokia XL is equipped with a 5-inch IPS LCD display, giving it a twenty-five percent bigger screen. However, the screen resolutions are both at 480x800 pixels.

It's the pixel per inch density that makes a difference, says The Rem. Nokia XL has 186.6 ppi while Samsung Galaxy S Duos 3 has 233.2 ppi.

As for the hardware, Nokia XL runs on Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 chipset Cortex-A5 and has a 1.0 GHz speed. Galaxy S Duos 2, on the other hand, has a dual-core processor offering 1.2GHz of speed. A RAM of 768 MB and 4 GB of space are present in both phones. Nokia and Samsung's offerings also offer expandable memory via Micro SD card slot, dual SIM support, GPS, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, 3G, and GPRS support.

The cameras on the phones are also similar, continues The Rem. Both are equipped with 5MP primary camera, though Nokia XL's 2MP camera is more advanced than Samsung's 0.3 MP VGA front camera.

There is also a big difference in the battery. Nokia XL has a 20000 mAh Li-Ion battery, while Samsung Galaxy S Duos 2 only has 1500 mAh Li-Ion battery, but Nokia will need the bigger battery for its bigger screen.

The two handsets are both viable options for individuals with a budget, since they are both functional and coming from trusted phone makers. As for the price, KpopStarz considers both Android phones to be budget friendly, but Nokia XL is currently priced at $150 while Samsung Galaxy S Duos 2 is $160.
