"The Face of an Angel," which is based on a book about the coverage of the Meredith Kercher murder mystery, could hit the big screens soon. But with Amanda Knox's defense camp sending threats to the movie's creators, the primary question now is, "Will the movie be shown?"

Amanda's lawyer, Luciano Ghirga has since said that "The Face of an Angel" could affect his client's image in court, Sydney Morning Herald reported. He also believed that the showing of the film could lead to possible conviction without an absolute explanation. He added, "There have already been at least two films and 12 books about the case. If the film is based even loosely on the murder in Perugia and if it is damaging to Amanda's image, we will be asking for damages, as we have done in other cases."

Barbie Latza Nadeau, a CNN journalist, wrote a novel titled "Angel Face," of which the film was based on. Director Michael Winterbottom aims to make a movie to expose all sides of the story surrounding the death of the British student, who had died due to knife stabs. Knox, along with her ex-boyfriend Raffaele Sollecito and Rudy Guede, an Ivory Coast native, has since been convicted in the Kercher's murder. Both Knox and Sollecito has been fighting for an appeal for the initial guilty verdicts, while Guede's own guilty verdict remains in limbo considering the latest decisions regarding the former lovers' cases against them.

Biography.com said the movie, which premiered at the 2014 Toronto International Film Festival, centers on the story of Thomas Lang (played by Daniel Bruhl), who, as a student-director, yearns to create a film based on a high-profile case after a series of headlines arose about the death of Elizabeth Price (Sai Bennett). Jessica Fuller (Genevieve Gaunt) is being accused as the killer and mastermind of Price's death. Lang gets in touch with a foreign correspondent named Simone (Kate Beckinsale) to help him with his film proposal.

The film is set for a screening event at the London Film Festival in October, BBC said. It is safe to say, then, that despite the threat on "The Face of an Angel" creators, the film is expected to be seen on the big screen still.

On the other hand, there are no developments yet on Knox's on-going appeal. SMH theorized that any significant developments in the Kercher murder case would most likely happen next year.
