Attack on Titan retains its post as the leading manga in Japan as it remains to be the highest selling manga in the country. And while fans of the post-apocalyptic series may have to wait for a longer time before the release of the second season of the anime adaptation, Hajime Isayama's work is still continuously collecting a slew of achievements on its own.

Anime News Network reports that "Attack on Titan" remains to be the most popular manga for another week after its newest chapter left fans gaping in shock and amazement in manga forums, Kpopstarz spills.

It has been recently confirmed last July that the series--which features humanity in constant war and hiding with man-eating giants (or titans)--will be getting a 40 million total print run in Japan for its 14th volume. Crunchyroll.com dishes that the manga turned anime surpassed its 30 million mark with the reprinting of its 12th volume which was first released on December 9, 2013. Moreover, the 13th volume holds the record for having the highest first print run record for manga publisher Kodansha after it sold 2.75 million after its release on April 9, 2014.

The manga also has several special chapters including Attack on Titan: Junior High, Attack on Titan: No Regrets received, and Attack on Titan: Before the Fall.

In other news, BreatheCast reports that "Wit Studios will not be releasing an "Attack on Titan" Season 2 until the manga volumes 15 and 16 are launched first." This led on to speculations that the second season of the anime will be released on August 2015.

Additionally, an interview with the series' editor Shintaro Kawakubo originally posted by the University of Tokyo Newspaper and translated by RocketNews24 stated that the manga's serialization will end in three to four years. However, he believes that the story will be something to be passed down from "generation to generation for a decade-no, five decades."
