The upcoming season of the hit series, "The Vampire Diaries" will be filled with shocking turns of events and character twists. According to Christian Post, the show has just finished shooting the promotional photos for sixth season of the The CW's series.

The previous photos show Salvatore brothers (Paul Wesley and Ian Somerhalder) with Elena (Nina Dobrev). This time around, the new photo features Bonnie (Kat Graham) with Damon (Somerhalder), hinting a possible focus on the brewing romance between the two.

Showrunner Julie Plec previously revealed where Damon and Bonnie are at the end of the second episode. Plec revealed that while the setting may seem familiar, the two is "definitely in a place that's foreign to them."

Many fans have been theorizing that the two might be losing their memories and would be back to Mystic Falls. Plec teased that "The Mystery is where are they, what happened, are they dead, and what the hell are they going to do together, those two of all people?

Meanwhile a new spoiler suggests that Alaric (Matthew Davis) may end up coming face to face with either Klaus (Joseph Morgan) or Elijah (Daniel Gillies). This is after reports that Plec is currently working on a "crossover" with the "The Vampire Diaries'" spinoff "The Originals."

New spoilers for the upcoming sixth season of "The Vampire Diaries" suggest that Alaric may wind up coming face to face with either Klaus or Elijah. Also, it's possible that Damon Salvatore, Stefan Salvatore, or Elena Gilbert may die at the end of the season but this time, their passing will be permanent.

The executive producer did not reveal how vampires Klaus or Elijah could visit Mystic Falls. However, she hinted that after the first crossover, that is reportedly happening in the first part of the season, the two characters hang out with Alaric every once in a while.

Another news that sent fans in the online community abuzz is the report that claims one of the three main characters (Elena, Stefan, and Damon) may die at the season finale. Making things worse, the report suggest that the character will be permanently dead.

Rumor has it that one of the three actors is hesitant to sign a contract for a seventh season, while the other two have already agreed to return.

"The Vampire Diaries" Season 6 will premiere on October 2, 7p.m. on The CW.
