Back in October, an official sequel to Tim Burton's cult classic "Beetlejuice" was confirmed, in a report from The Wrap.

But since then, details have been a little on the scarce side. All we really knew in October was that "Beetlejuice 2" was a go, that Michael Keaton would probably be coming aboard to star once more, and that the release date was most likely a very long time away.

Now, the new info has started to trickle in. According to KpopStarz, Winona Ryder, who first rose to stardom playing the goth teen Lydia Deetz in the original "Beetlejuice," has been hinting at a return herself, although she's not 100% locked into the role.

Bringing Ryder back would be a big turning point for the film, however- with a project like "Beetlejuice 2," that's based mostly on nostalgia for the original film, the more actors you can get from the original, the better.

Right now, besides Keaton and Ryder, no other "Beetlejuice" actors- say, Alec Baldwin or Geena Davis, have been interested in returning to the project.

However, according to Keaton, things are starting to progress- and Keaton himself might be growing closer to officially joining the film. Here's what the actor said to MTV:

"I've e-mailed Tim a couple of times, talked to the writer a couple of times, but all really, really preliminary stuff. I always said that's the one thing I'd like to do again, if I ever did anything again. But it kind of required Tim to be involved some way or another."

Later, Keaton continued:

"Now it looks like he is involved. And without giving too much away we've talked to each other, and e-mailed each other, and if he's in, it's going to be hard not to be in."

If things continue to snowball in this manner, we might not be too far away from seeing "Beetlejuice 2" ramp up its production in a big way, and eventually make it back into theaters.
