"Titanfall 2" is stuck in a difficult situation.

The original game, "Titanfall," was a humongous success, and managed to propel the Xbox One to new sales heights. But "Titanfal" alone wasn't enough to put the Xbox one out in front of the PS4, and right now Microsoft's console is still in second place.

It's because of this that new rumors have sprouted up that "Titanfall 2" may release not only on the Xbox One, but on the Playsation 4.

Motoring Crunch has an interesting take on the story- they claim that the "Titanfall" sequel is, in fact, headed to the PS4 console, but from they way they say it, it almost sounds like a PS4 exclusive. Which would be ridiculous, given that the series started out solely on Xbox. According to Motoring Crunch, there may be a licensing war going on right now behind the scenes, with EA, Microsoft and Sony all jockeying to get their hands on this extremely lucrative property.

KpopStarz, meanwhile, has a new report that claims Microsoft's rights to "Titanfall" may soon be expiring, which might be a cause for the bidding war. If Sony is able to wrest "Titanfall" away from Microsoft, they may be able to triple the sales that Microsoft was able to manage with the game. If that's the case, this may be another nail in Microsoft's coffin for the great console wars.

Meanwhile, a job posting listed on ThisIsXbox.com may hint that Respawn Entertainment might be moving forward with "Titanfall 2" despite this messy legal battle not even being close to complete. This makes sense, given that KpopStarz also mentions that the release date for "Titanfall 2" may be announced in just a few months' time. It may not be long until "Titanfall 2" begins in public and in earnest.

Check back soon for more updates on "Titanfall 2," on whichever console it might land on!
