Ben Seewald is a young business owner and also works in a country club, Daily Mail said. However, his recent thoughts about Catholicism has nudged him from obscurity and into the limelight, especially with the fact that he is dating "19 Kids and Counting" star Jessa Duggar.

In reality television, the Duggars are known devout Independent Baptists. And for Seewald, who has been in a relationship with their daughter Jessa, it was interesting whether the elder Duggars approved of their daughter's boyfriend and rumored fiance to voiced out his thoughts about Catholicism via social media.

In his earlier post on his Facebook page last week, Seewald earned negative comments, with some saying that his post was an anti-Catholic rant. Part of that controversial post as published by Christian Today read,

"What I DO have a problem with is the teaching that man can merit God's favor through his own works or the works of other fallen men. ... I DO have a problem with the teaching that man can come to God through Mary or any other person besides Jesus... I DO have a problem with the deification of Mary as a sinless being. Mary herself admitted her need for a Savior. If she had no sin, she would need no Savior... My conscience is captive to the word of God. Where my Catholic friends adhere to God's Word, I adhere. Where they depart from Scripture, I will in no way support, but will call them out because I love them and desire that they be turned from their deadly errors."

This time, Seewald went for the sympathy vote, and tried explain his post from last week. Starting with the words "I AM A CRIMINAL," Seewald made sure everyone who had responded to his earlier post would get to see his new one, which was also published on Facebook.

Going through the entire 10 commandments aided with Bible verses, Seewald tried to ask for sympathy for his Facebook post last week. He wrote, "There I was. Speeding towards destruction; the weight of my guilt pulling me down to the pits of hell; a criminal towards God and justly sentenced--my own actions condemning me."

He also said that he found peace in Jesus nonetheless.

"Friend, hear me! You CAN have this same forgiveness, and you can have it NOW. Trust in Jesus, and surrender to Him. Give up trying to earn your way to heaven, and sell out to Jesus. Give your life to Him. He will transform your life and save you from Hell forever!"
