NBC's psychological thriller "Hannibal" will pick up a year after the events of Season 2 finale "Mizumono," Enstars reports. Fans and viewers can expect to see the hunt for Dr. Lecter (Mids Mikkelsen) in full swing in the series' third season.

The victims in the last season's finale will have had a year to recover. The season will also show Will Graham (Hugh Dancy) focusing his attention and efforts on the fugitive cannibal instead of sticking to his standard FBI duties.

Series creator Bryan Fuller describes the first half of the season as "relatively FBI-light" during the discussions in Hannibal's 2014 San Diego Comic-Con panel.  Fuller said "It's all about the pursuit of Hannibal. ... The first episode is very much like a pilot for a new series starring Mads Mikkelsen and Gillian Anderson."

The announcement at the event came as a delight to the fans. A lot of Hannibal's fans have been hoping that the character Dr. Du Maurier will be given a larger role in the upcoming season.

Fuller also made an announcement  about the fate of one of the characters. "Someone in Hannibal's house is dying," he said. A character's demise, however, does not necessarily mean the character will not be shown in the series anymore.

Caroline Dhavernas (Alana Bloom) teased, "You will see Alana again. What shape she will be in, that remains a mystery even to me."

"But on Hannibal when you're dead, sometime you'll be even more present than when you're alive. So you never really know," Dhavernas continued.

Meanwhile, Laurence Fishburne recently announced that his character Jack Crawford will have a role in Season 3. As Will Graham seems to be the only confirmed survivor from Hannibal's attack, any of the other victims is rumored to be appearing in some form of dream sequence.

Hannibal will start airing is third season in 2015.
