Sony's Columbia Pictures announced at this year's Comic Con that "The Amazing Spiderman 3" will now be released in 2018, Hollywood Life reported. The news came as a surprise to fans because the third sequel of the Peter Parker movie was initially slated to be released in 2016.

It is to note that following the success of "The Amazing Spiderman," fans of the superhero had to wait for two years to see the sequel of the Andrew Garfield-starred movie, which was recently shown in theaters last April. This time around, the fans of the comic book superhero will have to wait for four years.

Disney, together with Marvel Studios, announced the changes in the release dates of their other comic-based moviews at the San Diego Comic-Con. Both of the companies also announced that it would delay the release of "The Amazing Spiderman 4," which was previously slated for 2018. They had reasoned that they need to give way to the upcoming "Avengers 3," film which is set to hit the big screen in May 2015. The two companies announced "Captain America" 3 will be released on May 6, 2016, sharing the debut of "Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice."

On the other hand, both Disney and Marvel had made an ingenious move to satiate the hunger of the webslinger hero. Many fans, however, were thrilled to know that they will get to see another movie inspired by Marvel superhero, which is a villain spinoff titled "Sinister Six," Kpopstarz reported. The Spiderman villain movie is set to be release in 2016. The original "Sinister Six" in the Marvel comics version is composed of some of the most famous Spiderman villains. The group is composed of Doctor Octopus, Sandman, Electro, Kraven the Hunter, Mysterio, and Vulture.

Marvel and Disney are the companies behind the box-office superhero movie franchises such as the X-Men, Spiderman, Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, and Avengers.
