As Rockstar Games is reportedly working on the adaptation of Grand Theft Auto 5 for the PS4 and Xbox One gaming consoles, which is expected to be release this fall, there has been another report that the developer is also brewing a GTA 6 for the consoles, which is slated for a 2017 release.

Citing an interview Rockstar North America president Leslie Benzies did with Develop, KPopstarz said that the developer believes that their fans would be in for a surprise. He was quoted as saying, "We've got about 45 years worth of ideas we want to do, we don't know what 'GTA VI' will be, but we've got some ideas."

GTA 6 is the rumored sequel to the highly-successful game GTA V.  Rumors on the web are rife regarding the next setting of GTA 6, with people speculating that the setting would probably be in either Paris, London, Brazil or Las Vegas. The FuseJoplin.com wrote that the next setting would be in a fictional city inspired by te hustle and bustle of New York City or a carbon copy of Miami. The International Business Times reported, on the other hand, cited an unnamed Rockstar employee who had taken to Reddit on debunking the 2017 purported release of GTA 6.

This has been somehow corroborated by Benzies in the same interview. As of now, GTA 6 is not on their everyday list as they still have to work on the planned GTA Online before they start up another project.

At the moment, Benzies said that the company still has work to do on the planned GTA Online project before they take up a new one. He added, "GTA Online is the focus right now. There ain't no rest between finishing 'V' and then Online. Plus we have some other things- stuff, DLC, I don't know how to describe it exactly-that we'd like to do, and we'll pick the right ones."

Kpopstarz also cited an earlier interview with Rockstar co-founder Dan Houser with Gamerant, who gave some insights about the company's successful game franchise in the future.

"At the moment it feels like [Grand Theft Auto's] D.N.A. is contemporary-ish, America-ish, English-speaking-ish, because that's what it has been... But that doesn't necessarily limit it to those, that's just what we've done so far," He said during the release of the GTA 5.
